Bacon, the ultimate internet meme
I love bacon. And apparently the internet does too. There has been much question as how the phenomenon of bacon on the internet got started. Some say it started with The Oracle of Bacon, the dedicated site to exploring the six degrees of Kevin Bacon. Others, credit jscalzi who reached internet fame by taping a piece of bacon to his cat. However it got started, I for one am glad to see bacon reach its just fame.
To see the latest ‘bacon as meme’ check out this adorable site, bacolicio.us and get your healthy dose of internet bacon.

Meet the Artist: Tony Oursler

The Smithsonian Institution’s Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC has these great podcasts on contemporary artists and I’ve recently been going through their archives.
Here, video artist Tony Oursler discusses his method of animating objects with the use of projectors. His work was on display in the Hirshhorn’s two-part exhibition “The Cinema Effect”. This recording is from February 19, 2008.

Couldn’t resist getting these new Chucks. Their ‘circuit’ design borders on the uber geeky side but, hey, we all have our weaknesses.
